Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^

Time for me to go back to school! I was hoping to get more of Rena done, but we'll see. I'm going to try really hard this time to work on a comic during school. But from this point on, things are only going to get harder. I'm about three semesters from graduating, and I also need to fill my science and math requirements...
I'm taking a math class this semester, and I'm petrified!!! I'm also a little upset since apparently I have to pay to turn my homework in. WTF is up with that? I mean, the book is expensive enough, why should I pay $82 just so I can turn in my homework? Giving the professor a paper in class or by e-mail is free!! Why couldn't they just use blackboard?! That's free too!! I might have a little talk with this woman at the end of class, especially since I have no money for books just yet. I have to wait until the end of the week when I get paid...
But I'm taking two English classes, and one of them's with my favorite professor!! I'm so glad to be taking another class with him! It's gonna be so awesome, he's SUCH a good teacher.
So yeah... Sorry I've been so silent over here. I went on vacation, and I'm finding tumblr too much these days. XD
Oh yeah! I got a new tumblr! I stopped using my old one since it got boring, and so I made a new one. If you want to follow me, go ahead! I usually post sketches and WIPs of what I'm working on there.
